Scholarships & Grants Available for CAA Students

Funding is widely available to eligible students enrolled in, or who plan to enroll in, ITP courses. The funding sources listed below offer some ideas for students. The CAA does not guarantee the currency of the hyperlinks or programs below. It is the students' responsibility to seek and secure funding; this website only provides some potential sources.

Please note: it is the student's responsibility to determine their eligibility and follow-up with funding organizations directly regarding application cycle expectations.

Cora Shea Memorial Fund	Avalanche Canada Foundation	Women contributing to snow or avalanche research" or who plan to "advance or promote the application of science in professional practice, regarding avalanche safety."
Bourse Alexandra Oberson	Avalanche Québec	Les graduées du cours Opérations d'avalanche Niveau 1 ayant obtenu le meilleur résultat cumulatif.

Residency-Based Funding

Canada-Alberta Job Grant (applications submitted by employer)	Government of Alberta	Residents of Alberta
Exposure Course Funding	Job Resource Centre (Canmore & Banff)	Residents of Alberta who are currently unemployed or marginally-employed.
BC Interior Community Foundation Scholarships	BC Interior Community Foundation (Kamloops & Surrounding Areas)	Residents of Kamloops, BC.
CBT Training Fee Support	Kootenay Career Development Society & Columbia Basin Trust (CBT)	Residents of the Columbia Basin who are unemployed or marginally-employed
Fast Forward Program	Kootenay Career Development Society	Residents of the Kootenays under 30 years old

BC Employer Training Grant

WorkBC

The Employer Training Grant helps employers pay for their staff's training. Employers can apply as often as they need and receive 80% of the cost of training up to $10,000 per employee, with a maximum annual amount per employer of $300,000.

ACMG & MEC

ACMG Members pursuing further training. Preference given to members of BIPOC/2SLGBTQ+ communities. NOTE: CANNOT BE USED FOR ITP COURSES.
