Avalanche Operations Level 1: Women's+ Scholarship

In recognition of women's underrepresentation across ITP courses, the CAA pledges to cover the full Avalanche Operations Level 1 course and hut fees of one successful scholarship recipient for an Avalanche Operations Level 1 course at Kootenay Pass, BC, from March 28-April 4, 2026. This scholarship is available to students who identify as women, gender non-conforming, non-binary, genderqueer, and/or other marginalized gender identities.

Applications are now closed. Thank you to those who applied! All applicants will receive notice of the Committee's decision at the end of August.

Students do not already need an AvSAR L1 certification to apply. If the select recipient does not already have AvSAR L1, they will be guaranteed a seat on an AvSAR Level 1 course of their choice based on the locations and dates indicated in the course calendar. This chosen AvSAR Level 1 course must conclude BEFORE March 28. Upon acceptance of their award, the recipient must indicate to ITP Student Services their preferred course location and date.

The scholarship award will be given at the end of August 2025. Should you have any questions regarding the status of your application, please contact ITP Student Services via email (studentservices@avalancheassociation.ca) or by phone (604-757-2113).
