Safe Winter travel is a concern for any employer who sends workers into the mountains. In Canada, employers have a legal responsibility to their employees' safety (Bill C-45, Section 217.1). The purpose of this manual is to assist employers in identifying hazards that exist in the winter mountain environment and to provide training tools for employees to manage these hazards.
