The Professionalism in the Avalanche Industry online course educates members and future members on the professionalism standards of the CAA. For those applying for membership, this course allows individuals to fulfill the professionalism competency requirements needed to be a member of the CAA.

The course is designed to be taken by:

  • Prospective members of the CAA who have successfully completed the CAA's Avalanche Operations Level 1 course.
  • Current members who are enabling their practice with continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Current members seeking to change membership category.
  • Former members seeking reinstatement after their membership has lapsed.

This course is a resource tool as much as it is a prerequisite for membership with the CAA. Beyond containing important information about being a member of the CAA, it addresses ethical practice, career planning, and scope of practice standards that are crucial to a successful career path in the Canadian avalanche industry.
