Dear CAA Level 2 Module 1 Students,

Welcome to the Canadian Avalanche Association's Operations Level 2 Module 1 course.

Preparation is key to success on the Level 2 modules and this webpage is provided to help you in your preparation for your course. Below you will find pertinent information for your course; read through the entire page carefully.

The CAA Level 2 Module 1 is a 4-day classroom-based course and is broadly divided into two major themes:

  • Human factors – how do human factors influence decision making in the workplace?
  • Spatial variability of the snowpack – what mechanisms are at work and how can we forecast for them?

There will not be a formal assessment during the Module 1 course.  However, there is a written exam at the end of Module 3 that will pertain to information gained over all modules.

Besides the mailed student resource package this will be the only written correspondence from the CAA regarding your course. Please contact the CAA directly (250-837-2435) if you have any questions.

We wish you well on your travels this winter and success during your course.
