CAA 2024 Board Elections
There were three openings on the CAA's Board of Directors at the AGM in May:
- Regular Director - Brad White, Avalanche Professional - Elected
- Regular Director - Sofia Forsman, Avalanche Practitioner - Re-elected
- Public Representative - Kate Erwin - Elected

CAA Financial Statements
As a member of the CAA, you are entitled to review the association's financial statements. The priority of the association is to apply resources toward accomplishing goals set by the board of directors in the annual strategic plan.
In accordance with the federal Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, the board of directors approves the financial statements. Membership is given the responsibility of approving the public accountant at the AGM.

Recommendations for Member Dues Changes
Two resolutions were voted on at the 2024 AGM.
- An increase of 5% for all membership categories
- Changing educator category dues such that:
- Basic Avalanche Educator (BAE) be 80% of the cost of Avalanche Practitioner dues, and;
- Advanced Avalanche Educator (AAE) be 80% of the cost of Avalanche Professional dues.

Service Award Nominations
Each year, the CAA honours members who have made a significant contribution to avalanche safety in Canada. Thank you to Arc'teryx for their contributions to and support of the CAA Service Award.
